This course introduces Sector Development Goal themes and global learning frameworks to enrich teaching and deepen learning in your classroom. It encourages you to critique and try out strategies for engaging children and young people with local-to-global issues. It builds teachers skills, confidence and practical approaches to incorporate global learning into the curriculum and active global citizenship in the school.

Who is this for?
All teachers, especially International/PSHE/MFL coordinators, and teachers with responsibility for Eco-Schools, Rights Respecting Schools, fair trade or global/international links.
Newly appointed coordinators or those with an interest in developing any of these areas further are welcome.
How will I benefit?
This course provides accredited recognition of teachers’ practice. It will help you nurture informed, active global citizenship amongst pupils of all ages and abilities and enhance SMSC provision.
One six hour workshop
Provider: CODEC. The Consortium of Development Education Centres (CoDEC) has over 20 specialist member organisations located across England, who work collaboratively to develop and deliver Global Teacher Award across England through Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme.
This course is available by video conference only.
This live six hour online course is interactive, making the most of specific online platforms and online sharing spaces to bring a face-to-face feel.
The course content includes pre and post course activities introducing key concepts and supporting personal learning and reflection. Teachers critique and implement changes to their practice and curriculum and discuss this with peers. Tutorial support is available for a reflective assignment to gain recognition of your own classroom practice.
